PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice making machine capable of more accurately controlling opening and closing of a water pan. SOLUTION: This ice making machine I comprising a cooler 1 having a number of ice making chambers 1A opened downward, and the tiltable/returnable water pan 5 closing each of the ice making chambers 1A, performing an ice making stroke by spraying the water from the water pan 5 to each of the ice making chamber 1A in a state of placing the water pan 5 at a prescribed horizontal closing position for closing the ice making chambers 1A, and performing an ice separating stroke by heating the cooler 1 in a state of placing the water pan 5 at a prescribed tilting opening position for opening the ice making chambers 1A, further comprises a non-contact type water pan position detecting switch 30 for detecting the horizontal closing position and the tilting opening position of the water pan 5, and a control means for restarting a microcomputer for controlling an operation of the ice making machine I when it is judged that the water pan position detecting switch 30 is placed at the horizontal closing position even after the lapse of a prescribed time from the start of tilting of the water pan 5 from the horizontal closing position.
