PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal cylinder head gasket capable of surely preventing drop of sealing performance due to crevice corrosion of a cylinder block and a cylinder head, and peeling of rubber from an upper and a lower gasket base plates without thinning thickness of a center gasket base plate. SOLUTION: Full bead parts 11a, 12a bulging so as to make top parts 11a1, 12a1 face each other at a position opposing in an up-and-down direction respectively are provided on a combustion chamber bore 15 side of the upper and lower gasket base plates 11, 12, and a folded part 13a folded outward in a radial direction of the combustion chamber bore is provided on an circumference edge part of the combustion chamber 15 hole of an intermediate gasket base plate 13 positioned on the combustion chamber bore side more than the full bead parts of the upper and the lower gasket base plates. A shim 14 formed to enclose a periphery of a folded end of the folded part is installed between the folded end 13b of the folded part of the center gasket base plate and bore side opening edges 21a, 22a of water jackets 21, 22 opening on opposing surfaces of the cylinder block and the cylinder head.
