PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endless belt capable of forming an image of high quality for a long period regardless of mounting conditions of the endless belt and image forming conditions etc., and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the endless belt. SOLUTION: There are provided the endless belt 1A including a belt base layer 2, a foamed elastic layer 3A formed on the outer peripheral surface of the belt base layer 2, and a surface layer 4A formed on the outerperipheral face of the formed elastic layer 3A and the image forming apparatus including the endless belt 1A. The endless belt 1A includes the foamed elastic layer 3A containing a cell 7 and therefore, even if the belt base layer 2 is formed of a resin composition and also, even if the mounting conditions of the endless belt 1A and the image forming conditions etc., are not set in details, the foamed elastic layer 3A efficiently absorbs the change in the abutting area of the endless belt 1A and a body to be abutted and abutting pressure etc., for a long period.
