PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display medium which is high in the reliabilityof a display part by effectively preventing a short circuit between electrodes and is simple and inexpensive in configuration. SOLUTION: The image display medium comprises: a first substrate layered body 1 which has a first thin film electrode 1b formed on a first substrate 1a; a second substrate layered body 2 which is disposed opposite the first substrate layered body 1 and has a second thin film electrode 2b smaller in two dimensions than the first thin film electrode 1b formed on a second substrate 2a smaller in two dimensions than the first substrate 1a; and a display layer 3 sandwiched between the first thin film electrode 1b of the first substrate layered body 1 and the second thin film electrode 2b of the second substrate layered body 2 with an adhesive layers 4 interposed.
