PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the variation of the quantity of the charge applied to a test sample in an electrostatic charge testing machine. SOLUTION: A corona charge device 20 has a base assembly 100, the housing assembly 110 provided to the upper side of the base assembly 100 so as to be movable in a Z-direction, the corona wire 130 provided in the housing assembly 110 under tension, a housing assembly moving mechanism 150 for raising and lowering the housing assembly 110 and a corona wire moving mechanism 170 for raising and lowering the corona wire 130 in the housing assembly 110. The corona wire 130 is allowed to approach a turntable 14 along with the housing assembly 110 or allowed to independently approach the turntable 14, so that the quantity of the charge applied to the test sample is varied.
