<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroluminescent element, with improved production efficiency of elements by solving the problems of seal neck failures and seal overflow. <P>SOLUTION: The electroluminescent element 200 includes a substrate 210, a pixel part 220 formed on the substrate containing a first electrode 222, a light-emitting layer 224, and a second electrode 226, and a protective part 250 for sealing the substrate. The protective part includes a first face 250a, containing a sealing region W2 firmly fixed to the substrate, a second face 250c at a given interval with the first face and the pixel part that face the pixel part, and a slanted face 250b connecting the first face and the second face, with a first curvature radius as the curvature radius of the corner part of the first face larger than a second curvature radius as a curvature radius of a corner part of frames, where the first face and the slanted face cross, and with the first curvature radius being larger than a third curvature radius, as the curvature radius of a corner part of the second face. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
