摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure the length and deflection amount of paper on a resist part independently of the length of the paper and its feeding method, and correct the deflection amount. <P>SOLUTION: The paper is carried from a paper feed tray 111, and a time required for predetermined-distance carriage is measured by a time measuring means consisting of a resist sensor 141 and a paper discharge sensor 142 on the same carrying passage. A computing unit 11 uses a time T measured by a timer 13, a paper carrying speed V and a sensor-to-sensor distance S for computing and calculating a paper length L. Similarly, the computing unit 11 uses the calculated paper length L for computing and calculating a deflection amount. The calculated deflection amount is compared with a deflection amount allowable range previously stored in a ROM 50. When the computed deflection amount is smaller than the allowable range, a carrying roller 121 is controlled to increase the deflection amount.
