PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route guiding apparatus and a route guiding method for visibly displaying route divisions. SOLUTION: When a user specifies desired points, a route retrieving section 26 retrieves a route between the desired points from road network information, and determines the entire route. A route dividing section 28 divides the entire route, configures a plurality of partial map information, and allocates the partial map information at a location having the largest number of nodes included in the partial map information. An end point of the partial map information forwardly allocated on the map and a start point of the partial map information backwardly allocated are the same node.
