PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing device and an image forming system for solving the problems that great inconveniences are conventionally given to users because, when breakage occurs, a saddle stitching staple unit interrupted by sheets are pulled out resulting in difficult repairing or replacing work, or the non-unitized form of the saddle stitching staple unit requires replacing and re-adjusting work with components removed one by one. SOLUTION: The sheet processing device comprises a stacking means for stacking sheets being carried, an aligning means for aligning the sheets stacked by the stacking means, and a saddle stitching means for applying saddle stitching to the bunch of sheets aligned by the aligning means. The saddle stitching means can be removed from the device body in a direction almost perpendicular to the sheet faces of the bunch of sheets P located at a saddle stitching position.
