TRANSMISSION OF INFORMATION TO GAMING MACHINES FROM A SERVER

A computing apparatus operating as a gaming machine permits wagering on games. A browser generates a request for information contained on a remote server. An intermediate client-side processing, ICSP, engine coupled with the browser asynchronously receives replies generated by the server containing updated information corresponding to the request. The browser, following the transmission of the request, is released to process other actions without awaiting the receipt of updated information. A communication link between the ICSP engine and the server remains always open to receive updated information from the server.
