<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology enabling a user to easily grasp the result of speech evaluation even in an environment without a display. <P>SOLUTION: A control section 11 of a speech evaluating device 1 compares the features of model speech data and the features of trainee speech data and, according to the result of the comparison, specifies an indication section. Then, in the model speech data, the control section 11 extends the model speech data corresponding to the specified indication section in the time base direction and changes the power of the model speech data corresponding to the indication section so that the sound volume of the model speech corresponding to the indication section will be increased. Further, the control section 11 inserts a silence interval immediately before and after the indication section.
