PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a measuring instrument capable of easily installing a measuring cell at the accurate position of the measuring instrument, and the measuring cell used therein. SOLUTION: A measuring cell 100, which has a sample holding part 103 for holding a sample to be inspected at least a part of which is formed of a transparent member, a sample collecting hole 105 for sampling the sample to be inspected in the sample holding part 103 and a reagent holding part 106 for holding the reagent reacted with the sample to be inspected contained in the sample to be inspected, and the measuring instrument 200, which has a light source for irradiating the sample to be inspected in the measuring cell 100 with light, a light detection part for receiving the light transmitted or scattered through the sample to be inspected and a measuring cell holding/holding release mechanism for holding the measuring cell 100 and releasing the holding of the measuring cell 100 after the completion of measurement, are provided.
