PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate with low drive power at high efficiency. SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescence element comprises a holes transport layer containing tri(p-tarphenyl-4-il) amines as a hole transporting agent expressed by a general formula (I) wherein R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>and R<SB>3</SB>are independently hydrogen atoms, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group or an aryl group which may have a substituent, and a hole injection layer containing aromatic tertiary amines having ionizing potential ranging from 5.2 to 5.6 eV as a hole injecting agent.
