PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective label achieving constitution of simply discriminating the right side from the back side without performing a step separate from a production process, improving the production efficiency, reducing cost and uniformizing quality and to provide a method for producing the protective label. SOLUTION: The protective label is composed of a label part 11, a pressure-sensitive adhesive 12 and a separator 13. The label part 11 has the nearly same shape as an adherend surface and transparency ensuring visibility of display contents of the adherend surface. The pressure-sensitive adhesive 12 is applied to the back side of the label part 11 and has the transparency ensuring the visibility of the display contents of the adherend surface. The separator 13 is composed of a rectangular-shaped part 13a having the whole surface of the label part made to temporarily adhere with the pressure-sensitive adhesive and a holding part 13b formed by extending from one side of the rectangular-shaped part 13a.
