FLUORINATED POLYMER BLOCK FOR APPLICATION TO PEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block copolymer capable of forming an ionic conductive membrane for a fuel cell.

SOLUTION: The fluorine-containing polymer segment contains at least one proton-transporting substituent having one or more fluorine atoms. The fluorine-containing polymer segment is useful for forming a hydrophilic polymer block for a block copolymer. The block copolymer useful for a fuel cell is integrated with a hydrophilic polymer block formed from the fluorine-containing polymer segment.
