PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmitting apparatus which attains suppression of increase in the number of part items, simplification of the structure of the apparatus, and reduction in size of the apparatus, and thus reduces the manufacturing cost of the apparatus. SOLUTION: The power transmitting apparatus comprises a clutch housing 2, a clutch member 4, a pressure plate 5, and stopper portions 5b each fitting in a recess 4a formed on the inner peripheral wall of the clutch member 4 and limiting the rotation of the pressure plate 5, in which a rotational force inputted to a gear 1 is transmitted to or cut off from a shaft 3 via pressure-contact or release between the driving clutch plates 6 and driven clutch plates 7. The stopper portions 5b and the recesses 4a are provided with pressure-contact assisting cams for increasing the pressure-contacting force between the driving clutch plates 6 and driven clutch plates 7, or provided with back-torque limiting cams for releasing the connection between the driving clutch plates 6 and the driven clutch plates 7.
