PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the recordable capacity of a recording medium by preventing a content from being erased before viewing without requiring users to confirm mutually whether the content may be deleted or not in advance. SOLUTION: In the content recording/reproducing device, when the content is recorded in a recording medium, a recording medium control means records viewing user information specifying a viewing user of the content including content information through a display means and an operating means, when reproduction is performed, the means updates and records the content information based on viewing user information specified by the operating means and its viewing history information, when it is erased, the means executes determines whether to permit erasure based on the content information, when it is determined to be permitted, the means erases the content, when it is determined not to be permitted, the means displays warning based on the content information on the display means.
