PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire 2 for a motorcycle having excellent controllability and stability and shock absorption. SOLUTION: This tire 2 has a tread 4, a bead 8 and a carcass 10. The bead 8 has a core 20 and an apex 22. The apex 22 comprises cross-link rubber including a short fiber. The short fiber is oriented toward the circumferential direction. The carcass 10 has a first carcass ply 24 and a second carcass ply 26. The first carcass ply 24 is folded back on the core 20. The end 28 of the second carcass ply 26 is radially positioned in the vicinity of the tip 36 of the apex 22. The first carcass ply 24 has a first cord inclined to an equator face. The second carcass ply 26 has a second cord inclined to the equator face. The inclination direction of the first cord is opposite to that of the second cord. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
