PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal sequence having a size smaller than a natural-type sequence and high secretion production efficiency compared with natural-type sequence. SOLUTION: The signal sequence having methionine as the amino terminal and either one of amino acids from 4-arginine to 14-isoleucine as the carboxyl terminal is prepared by deleting a carboxyl terminal side of a natural-type signal sequence composed of 29 amino acid residues derived from alkali cellulase gene of alkalophilic Bacillus genus bacteria. A high productivity corresponding to about two times the productivity of a natural-type signal sequence can be attained by using the sequence as the signal sequence. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
