PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying device capable of accurately aligning the positions of paper sheets with one another after rotation in a restricted space. SOLUTION: This sheet conveying device is characterized by comprising a skew amount detection means for detecting the skewed amount of sheets, two rollers capable of conveying the sheets in a predetermined conveying direction by rotating in the same direction and rotatable in the mutually different directions for rotating the sheets around a predetermined point, and a control means for so controlling the two pairs of rollers that the sheets are conveyed by the two rollers to the position where the distance between the predetermined point and the specified side of the sheets is a predetermined value and the direction of the sheets is changed by rotating the sheets according to the skewed amount detected by the skewed amount detection means.
