<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicast communication system having good balance between a transmission quality and transmission efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A transmitter side transmission apparatus 11 adds a transmission destination identifying code for identifying a transmission destination to which a normality response of reception should be returned to a transmission signal, and transmits the signal to receiver side transmission apparatuses 21-2n. Upon receiving the code, if the transmission destination identifying code of the reception signal is destined itself, the receiver side transmission apparatuses 21-2n each determine whether or not the reception signal is received, and return information about normal reception if reception determination is positive and information about a retransmission request if the reception determination is negative, as a response signal to the transmitter side transmission apparatus.
