PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a structure for connection with a tube, to easily perform connection and to easily arrange rods in a fixed direction when winding the hair around the rods. SOLUTION: The rod for permanent waves comprises: a cylindrically formed rod body 7 for which a partition wall 75 is integrally formed on the inner surface and many air circulation holes 76 are formed on the outer periphery on the side where a length to the end part is long partitioned by the partition wall; and a closing member detachably attached to the end part on the side where the air circulation holes are formed of the rod body and provided with an engaging part 83 with which an engaging member 9 connected to a suction means is to be freely turnably engaged.
