A wood fossil manufacturing method is provided to express the peculiar color as holding the original shape of wood by evaporating volatile organic compounds of the wood without decomposing the wood, by heating the wood at the temperature of inert atmosphere and melting silica deposited in wood. A wood fossil manufacturing method comprises the steps of: cutting wood at the predetermined size; dipping the wood in silica solution to penetrate silica components into the wood; forming a three-dimensional silica network at the wood; cleaning and drying the wood; heating and drying the wood under the inert atmosphere; and cooling the wood. The silica solution is made of one selected from silicate, silica sol, and organic silane, and the wood is deposited in the silica solution. |
