An optical repeater state remote monitoring device of a mobile communication system and a method are provided to check a state of an optical repeater remotely if failure occurs owing to loss of an optical line or performance changes of each amplifier of the optical repeater, thereby more easily managing an operation state of the optical repeater. A multi-tone generator(200) generates multi-tone signals in proportion to strength of output signals of base station signals sent to mobile terminals, and feeds back/inputs the generated signals to an input end of an optical repeater(104). A CCU(Common Control Unit)(202) collects the fed/outputted signals in connection with a donor(102) of a base station. An RCS(Repeater Control System)(208) checks whether failure occurs in the optical repeater(104) by comparing the collected signals with the strength of signals first inputted from the base station. |
