APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ENCODING TURBO CODE

An apparatus and a method for decoding a turbo code are provided to improve performance by making the length of a decoded bit stream long without variation of a code rate to increase performance of a turbo code. An apparatus for decoding a turbo code includes a temporary bit generator(310) generating a predetermined bit stream. An information bit stream and a temporary bit stream are independently inputted into an interleaver(320). The information bit stream and a temporary bit stream are independently inputted into a first constituent encoder(330) generating a first parity bit stream. Output of the interleaver is inputted into a second constituent encoder(340). The second constituent encoder generates a second parity bit stream. The first constituent encoder and the second constituent encoder are a duo-binary recursive systematic convolutional code and identical from each other.
