An apparatus and a method for outputting an image of a wide color gamut space are provided to extract parameters for converting an existing color space into a wide color gamut space through an experiment, and apply the produced parameters to an input image, thereby outputting an image with a color close to a natural color. An apparatus(300) for outputting an image of a wide color gamut space comprises a feature extracting unit(340), a hue range setting unit(350), an image converting unit(320), and an image outputting unit(330). The feature extracting unit extracts a difference between the feature of a standard color gamut and the feature of a wide color gamut. The hue range setting unit sets a hue range according to the extracted difference and parameters determined by an experiment. The image converting unit converts an image according to the extracted difference, the parameters, and the determined hue range. The image outputting unit outputs the converted image.
