<p>A solar power generator comprises a base unit 4, output terminals 5 6, a core unit c, and a spherical lattice 2 of crystalline semiconductor solar cells. The spherical lattice 2 of crystalline semiconductor solar cells comprises strands 3 of cells extending radially from the core c to the surface of a transparent sphere. The transparent nature of the sphere allows light to pass through and activate the solar cells within. The solar cells are connected in series and parallel. The sphere may be provided with a concave mirror encapsulating a portion of the sphere to capture and fully utilise incident light. The output terminals 5, 6 provide a DC power output. AC power output may be achieved by connecting an inverter to the output terminals 5, 6.</p> |
