A bill processing apparatus is provided to increase the process efficiency without re-identifying bill when the bill is ran out from a placing and running part. A bill processing apparatus comprises a hopping part(101), a transport part(202), a plurality of stacking parts(104), an identifying part(201), a placing and running part(103), and a controlling part(300). The controlling part controls the hopping part, the transport part, the plurality of stacking parts, the identifying part, and the placing and running part for determining a destination stacking part among the stacking parts according to an identified result in the identifying part, and for transporting bill to the placing and running part when the bill is unable to be stacked in the destination stacking part.
