A keyboard having a number key pad capable of inputting characters is provided to allocate six representative bowels into a numeric keypad or input keys, and to allocate consonants into the rest number input keys and auxiliary keys, thereby enabling a user to input the characters by one hand. A keyboard having a number key pad capable of inputting characters comprises numeric input keys from 0 to 9, and a plurality of auxiliary function keys. The auxiliary function keys comprise a num-lock key, a slash key, an enter key, space/backspace keys and etc. Four bowels are allocated to the numeric keys as a diamond shape, and the rest two bowels are allocated to edge lines. A plurality of consonants are allocated to the rest numeric keys and the auxiliary function keys.
