BACKLIGHT UNIT AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY COMPRISING THE SAME

A backlight unit and an LCD comprising the same are provided to connect fixed resisters to respective point light source sets serially and output dimming signals to the point light source sets, thereby simplifying the driving of the backlight unit. A backlight unit comprises a driving power supply unit(100), a plurality of point light source sets(61,62,63), and fixed resisters(81,82,83) serially connected to the point light source sets. The point light source sets are in parallel connected to the driving power supply unit to receive driving power from the driving power supply unit. The backlight unit further comprises a dimming controller(110) for outputting dimming signals. The dimming controller outputs different dimming signals to the point light source sets.
