DEVICE FOR MEASURING HEMATOCRIT OF BLOOD AND METHOD USING THE SAME

A device and a method for measuring hematocrit are provided to measure directly the hematocrit without diluting blood by measuring the maximum value and the decrease change between electrodes after inserting an electric signal detecting portion mounted on a syringe needle into an anti-cubital vein or applying pulse type milli-volt level voltage for a very short time to a container where a bio sensor chip typed electric signal portion is precipitated in a small amount of blood. A device for measuring hematocrit comprises: an electric signal detecting portion(10) having a working electrode and a counter electrode; an electrochemical portion(20) and a signal generating portion(30), each of which is electrically connected to the electric signal detecting portion; a data acquiring portion(40) which collects analog data obtained from the electrochemical portion and digitized the collected data; and a data processing portion(50) which mathematically processes the digitized data. A method for measuring hematocrit comprises the steps of: (a) contacting the electric signal detecting portion having the working and counter electrodes with a blood to be measured; (b) applying a pulse voltage to the electrodes; and (c) measuring the difference of electric current values before and after the application of the pulse voltage.
