METHOD, MULTIMEDIA SERVER, AND CLIENT TERMINAL FOR PROVIDING OR RECEIVING STREAMING SERVICE WITH USER CONTROLLED ADVERTISEMENTS

A method, a multimedia server, and a client terminal are provided to allow a VOD(Video On Demand) streaming service server to offer user-selected advertisements and allow the client terminal to receive the user-selected advertisements. A client terminal is adapted to receive multimedia contents and advertisement contents from a multimedia server. The client terminal comprises a web browser(300) and a session manager(310). The web browser has access to the multimedia server to request desired multimedia contents and advertisement contents. The session manager manages multimedia contents reproducing sessions by requesting one of plural types of usable advertisement contents, which are indicated by the multimedia server, to receive client-controlled advertisement contents through the web browser.
