An artificial floating island for water purification is provided to purify a freshwater lake such as a watercourse and a lake efficiently, by planting aquatic plants in an eco-friendly floating body floating on the lake. A cylindrical floating body(210) floats on water, wherein the floating body has a housing space in which aquatic plants are planted and grown. A fixing unit(130) is joined to the floating body to restrict the movement of the floating body within a predetermined range. The floating body has a microorganism nutrient supply unit for supplying nutrient sources to microorganisms. An illuminating unit(260) is installed at the floating body or the fixing unit, or adjacently to the floating body. Further, the illuminating unit contains an electric power module, a storage battery, a lamp unit, a light sensor and a controller. |
