A diamond tool and a method of manufacturing segments of the diamond tool is provided to prevent incidence of undercutting by forming a region to resist against wear, to improve durability by extending life span of diamond tool. A diamond tool having plural diamond crystals in each segment(54) placed on the shank(52) of diamond tool. Each segment has a supplementary cutting area(54a) formed with same thickness as the thickness of the shank and a certain height, and a main cutting area(54b) formed as a single piece with the supplementary cutting area while keeping the thickness of the main cutting area thicker than the supplementary cutting area.
