An 8-shift power train of an automatic transmission is provided to improve hydraulic control efficiency and fuel efficiency of a vehicle by realizing eight forward speeds and three backward speeds. A power train of an 8-shift power train of an automatic transmission includes a Ravigneaux type first planetary gear(PG1), Simpson type planetary gear sets(PG2,PG3), clutches(C1,C2), and brakes(B1-B5). The Ravigneaux type first planetary gear is arranged near to an input shaft(1). The Simpson type planetary gear sets are arranged near to an output shaft(2). A second linear gear of the first planetary gear is connected to the input shaft. A second carrier(P2) of the second planetary gear is connected to the output shaft. A second ring gear(R2) of the second planetary gear is connected to a third carrier(P3) of the third planetary gear. A third ring gear(R3) of the third planetary gear is shaft-coupled with a first carrier of the first planetary gear.
