A lightweight insulation block for construction is provided to cut down on the cost of materials by manufacturing with lightweight foamed synthetic resins and finishing internal and external walls of a building, and to shorten a period of construction by simplifying a working progress, and to heighten thermal insulation effect by finishing two sides of a main block with finishing blocks and adhering closely to a wall of a building. A lightweight insulation block for construction comprises a main block(1) provided with a ¬«-shaped groove(11) at one side, a projecting joint(12) at the other side to have the same shape as the groove, an insertion groove at the bottom, an insertion portion(14) at the bottom to be inserted to the insertion groove when piling up many blocks and many projections(15) at the front and the rear, a first finishing block(2) provided with a coupling groove(21) correspondingly to the projecting joint to couple with the projecting joint of the main block and a second finishing block(3) having the same shape as the groove to couple with the groove of the main block, and the lightweight insulation block for construction is made of foamed polystyrene to finish internal and external walls of a building, to cut down the cost of materials, to simplify a working process and to shorten a period of construction, wherein many blocks are assembled stably in a lateral direction by the groove and the projecting joint of the main block and assembled stably in an upward direction by the insertion portion and the insertion groove of the main block, and cement mortar is filled in grooves(151) formed between the projections of the main block and supported and fixed to the front or the rear of the main block. In addition, a filling groove(141) is formed on the upper part of the insertion portion of the main block to fill adhesives to fix the piled blocks strongly.
