A detent device for a manual transmission is provided to improve a speed shifting feeling by fixing a protruded lever between a cam member, which is elastically supported by a support spring, and a stopper bump. A center shaft(2) is arranged in a normal direction. A hinge spring unit(3) is moved in an axial direction on a center shaft. The hinge spring is rotatably inserted into a detent device. A protruded lever(5) is protruded opposed to a connection point of the hinge spring of a shift rail. A ring member(6) is fixed around the center shaft, such that an inner diameter of the ring member is greater than an end portion of the protruded lever. A cam mount is formed on an inner periphery of the ring member. A cam member(8) includes a groove and two protruded portions. A support spring elastically supports the cam member toward the protruded lever and is compressed by the cam member, which is retreated into the cam mount, when the protruded lever is rotated around the center shaft, such that a recovery elastic force is accumulated in the support spring. Two stopper bumps(10,11) are protruded from the inner periphery of the ring member at both sides of the cam member. A guide pin(13) is fixed on the shift rail.
