摘要 An apparatus and a method for remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater are provided to remediate contaminated soil and groundwater highly efficiently and reduce a time required for the remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater by applying electricity to contaminated soil through electrodes made of non-closed sectional shaped section steel to heat the contaminated soil, thereby increasing volatility and mobility of contaminants contained in contaminated soil and groundwater. An apparatus for remediation of contaminated soil comprises electrodes(3) buried to a contamination depth in a contaminated soil(8) to supply electric power to the contaminated soil, a power supply(1) connected to the electrodes to supply electric power to the contaminated soil, and extraction wells(4) for extracting contaminants and water vapor volatilized from the contaminated soil heated by supply of the electric power, wherein the electrodes are made of non-closed sectional shaped section steel, and the contaminated soil is remediated by allowing the electric power supplied through the electrodes to flow to the contaminated soil to heat the contaminated soil, thereby volatilizing contaminants in the contaminated soil and recovering and discharging contaminants through the extraction wells. The electrodes are laid under a groundwater level(9) in the contaminated soil when supplying electric power to the electrodes after installing the electrodes made of non-closed sectional shaped section steel to the contamination depth in the contaminated soil.
