A lead-free optical glass is provided to have the same optical properties as the conventional optical glass, improved chemical stability and machinability, sufficient crystallization stability, and good environmental friendliness. A lead-free optical glass comprises, in terms of wt% based on oxides, 12-35wt% of P2O5, 30-50wt% of Nb2O5, 2-13wt% of Bi2O3, 0.1-7wt% of GeO2, 7wt% and less than 17wt% of BaO, and 2-14wt% of WO3. The glass does not contain B2O3 and is not contaminated with SiO2 and/or residues of metal crucible materials. The glass has a refractive index(n_d) in the range of 1.82<=n_d<=2.00 and/or an Abbe number(V_d) in the range of 18<=V_d<=28.
