SYSTEM FOR CREATING SUMMERY CLIP AND METHOD OF CREATING SUMMARY CLIP USING THE SAME

A summary clip creating system and a summary clip creating method using the same are provided to select a segment according to a request of a user or a type of video contents and generate a summary clip of the video contents, thereby satisfying a user's desire. A summary clip creating system(100) comprises an event detecting unit(110), a segment generating unit(120), a segment selecting unit(130), and a summary clip generating unit(140). The event detecting unit detects an image event and an audio event generated according to a change of auditory components which are generated in at least one of the scene converting portion and content converting portion of video contents. The segment generating unit divides and merges at least one shot composing the video contents by referring to the image event to generate at least one segment. The segment selecting unit selects the segment at a level more than a predetermined level out of the segment by referring to high illuminance produced by using the image event and the audio event corresponding to each of the generated segment. The summary clip generating unit generates the summary clip by using the selected segment.
