PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer or the like which can easily perform label printing that enables details of contents to be grasped.

SOLUTION: The printer comprises a head image extracting means 52 which extracts a head image for every chapter from a contents file that includes image information and is a recording object to an optical disk medium, a label printing data generating means 61 which generates label printing data printed to a label face of the optical disk medium on the basis of the extracted head image, and a label printing means 64 which prints the generated label printing data to the label face of the optical disk medium.
