ICON DISPLAY METHOD, PORTABLE TERMINAL AND SERVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a weather icon representing weather forecast on the screen of each portable terminal even though broadcast is not used whenever the weather forecast is transmitted.

SOLUTION: This icon display method comprises the steps in which: a server transmits to a portable terminal a file with download schedule information described and a weather icon group; the portable terminal transmits to the server cell identification information for identifying a cell to which the portable terminal belongs and a weather icon identification information transmission request at certain time determined on the basis of the download schedule information; the server reads from a storage device weather icon identification information corresponding to weather forecast of a cell identified by the cell identification information and transmits the read weather icon identification information to the portable terminal; and the portable terminal selects a weather icon corresponding to the received weather icon identification information from the weather icon group and displays the weather icon on a display part.
