PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a scent of drying in the sun without generating degradation by ultraviolet rays on clothes. SOLUTION: In a drum type washing and drying machine 1 with a dryer provided with a blowing means (fan 20a or the like) for supplying hot air into a drum 9 and drying the clothes inside the drum 9, the scent component of drying in the sun is generated from a scent generating body inside a case 26 arranged in the circulation route 18 of the hot air by the ultraviolet rays radiated from an ultraviolet ray lamp 27.
