A plasma display apparatus and a method of driving the same are disclosed. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel including a first electrode and a second electrode connected to a reference voltage source, and a sustain driver that includes a capacitor performing charge and discharge operations. The sustain driver supplies a first voltage to the first electrode and one terminal of the capacitor, and supplies a second voltage of the other terminal of the capacitor to the second electrode. The second voltage is lower than the first voltage.
