<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant oil additive having good dispersibility, low-temperature characteristics, thickening effects and antioxidant characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The dispersible additive contains a reaction product obtained by reacting (i) a first group of monomers comprising the first subgroup of an 1-4C alkyl acrylate, the second subgroup of an 8-16C alkyl acrylate, and the third subgroup of a 17-30C alkyl acrylate, with (ii) a second monomer containing an olefin carboxy-based acylating agent under a condition effective for free radical polymerization of the first and the second monomers to afford a base polymer comprising an acylated alkyl acrylate copolymer having about 5,000-50,000 weight average molecular weight, and reacting the base polymer with hydrocarbylamine to afford a functionalized polyalkyl acrylate copolymer-based dispersing agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
