<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network compound machine capable of easy acquisition of update information on a driver installed to external processors, such as a personal computer. <P>SOLUTION: In a facsimile compound machine 1, when a control unit 11 determines that received E-mail is driver update information mail related to update information, it identifies an external processor 31 in which a driver corresponding to the update information is stored based on the identification information stored in a storage part 17 and sends the update information to the identified external processor 31. In the external processor 31, when a control unit 41 determines that a latest version is newer than a version of the driver stored in a storage part 45 on the basis of latest version information included in the update information, it displays update instruction information to a display part 42.
