<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adequately achieve head loads of first and second print heads against first and second platens. <P>SOLUTION: This printer comprises a mainframe 1 having an upper frame 23, a first thermal head 10 and a first platen roller 11 which are provided to be opposed to each other in the mainframe 1 with a paper conveyance path 4 therebetween adapted to print on one face of paper 2, a second thermal head 20 and a second platen roller 21 which are provided to be opposed to each other therein with the paper conveyance path therebetween adapted to print on the other face of the paper, and first and second springs 13, 24 for resiliently urging the first and second thermal heads 10, 20 to the first and second platen rollers 11, 21, respectively. The first platen roller 11 and the second thermal head 20 are attached to the upper frame 23 and the first thermal head 10 and the second platen roller 21 are attached to the side of the mainframe 1.
