PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation body designed such that a transitional load change caused in timing when a sheetlike member is inserted into or projected from a nip is absorbed and shifted by a simple configuration, and to provide an image forming apparatus with the rotation body used in a transfer device. SOLUTION: A roller 1 is rotated by a drive device. The roller 1 is constituted so that a counter roller is brought into press-contact to form the nip, through which a sheet member is passed. The roller 1 includes a cylindrical part 2, and a rotation shaft 3 concentric with the cylindrical part 2. Granular members 4 are enclosed in the cylindrical part 2, thereby forming a dynamic damper. Thus, even if a change due to collision with other member arises, the roller 1 can reduce the effect of such a change and accordingly ensures stable precision. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
