PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple technique installing electromagnetic or optical sensors within own case so as to make possible correct final positioning of sensor against targets placed at short intervals. SOLUTION: An electromagnetic or an optical sensor is installed within a case 10 equipped with a rigid pedestal section 14 consisting of one wall surfaces 22, or more, forming a boundary between the interior portion and the exterior portion of the case and an external surface for positioning toward the outside, as follows. The external surface for positioning is prepared so as to contact a gauge 44 for installing, while a sensor 42 is prepared, at least partially at the installed position inside the case so as to contact the gauge, but does not contact the pedestal section, through an aperture 32 of the wall surface. Fluid material 52 is introduced into interior of the case so as to embed the sensor, at least partially, and the fluid material is solidified so as to fix the sensor in place, to the case.
