PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for replacing neutron instrumentation tubes which can shorten the time required for their connection. SOLUTION: A connection member 3 where a sleeve 30 is integrated with a locknut 33 through the engagement between screw parts 32 and 35 is mounted at one end part of a newly fabricated neutron instrumentation guide tube 1. The sleeve 30 has grip sections 31 on its one end part. The neutron instrumentation guide tube 1 equipped with the connecting member 3 is carried into a reactor pressure vessel (RPV). Since the locknut 33 is loosened, the worked upper end part of a neutron instrumentation housing 2 is inserted into the sleeve 30 mounted on the neutron instrumentation guide tube 1. Thereafter, the locknut 33 is tightened to connect the neutron instrumentation guide tube 1 to the neutron instrumentation housing 2. The tube 1 and the housing 2 are coupled by each of protrusions 37 which dig into the outside face of the housing 2 and then transform. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
